BoxD — How It Works

Everything you need to set up and run each type of pool in BoxD. These guides are for pool owners — the person who creates a pool and runs it.

Two things that are true for every pool:

BoxD has two families of pools today: Box Pools (Boxes, Score Change, and Minute — all played on a 10×10 board) and Survivor. The Box Pools all share the same way of adding participants and drawing numbers, so those steps are explained once at the top of the Box Pools section. Survivor works differently and has its own guide. Many more pool types are on the way — see "Coming Soon" at the end.

Join and play from anywhere. BoxD runs on the iOS and Android apps and right in a web browser at app.boxdsports.com — join and play from any phone, tablet, or computer, no install required.

Box Pools

Boxes, Score Change, and Minute pools are all played on the same 10×10 board of 100 boxes. They share the same two steps — adding participants and drawing the numbers — explained once. (Season / Series pools use these same box mechanics across multiple games.)

Survivor

Survivor doesn't use a board or number draw — it works differently from the Box Pools above.

Notifications

BoxD keeps everyone in the loop automatically — the owner and every participant get a heads-up when something in their pool needs them.

Finding Your Pools

A quick tour of your home screen — where your pools live and how they're organized.

Your home screen splits your pools into Pools You Run and Pools You've Joined, so the ones you organize are never mixed in with the ones you're just playing. Within each, pools sit under collapsible Active and Completed sections — collapse what you're not looking at to keep a busy season easy to scan.

Across the top, sport filter chips and a search bar let you jump straight to what you want — filter to one or more sports, or search by name. Each pool row shows its type — Boxes, Score Change, Minute, and so on — at a glance.

You choose the sport when you create a pool. Box pools work in any sport — pick from 11, including Football, Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, Soccer, and Golf. Score Change and Minute pools are football-scoring formats, so they offer Football and College Football. Survivor is its own NFL format.

Coming Soon — More Pool Types
