BoxD Sports — How It Works
Everything you need to set up and run each type of pool in BoxD Sports. These guides are for pool owners — the person who creates a pool and runs it.
Two things that are true for every pool:
- BoxD Sports runs entirely on points — it's all for fun. Entries, prizes, winners — all tracked in points. BoxD Sports organizes and tracks your pool. It never collects, holds, or moves money.
- BoxD Sports keeps the board honest and the group in sync. Claim boxes, draw the numbers (Random, Manual, or in-app Live Draw; Founding Commish / Pool Pro can use a real-time Live Draw camera so the pool watches free), track scores, and lock ownership when the game is underway — so nobody is re-dealing boxes mid-game.
- Finished results for everyone. Free participants get completed results and ‘You won’ after the game. VIP participants get the live experience in every pool, no matter who runs it.
Real scores for everyone. Every pool links to its real game, and live score data is universal. You score it yourself on Free. With Pool Pro, BoxD Sports scores it for you.

Single-game formats are Boxes, Score Change, Minute, Small-Grid, and Line Strip. Season formats are Survivor, Pick’em, Rollover, and season/multi-game series.
BoxD Sports has three families of pools today: Box boards (Boxes, Score Changer, Minute, Season Long & Multi, Rollover), Survivor, and Pick’em. Box boards share adding participants and drawing numbers (explained once). Survivor and Pick’em have their own guides.

Boxes, Score Change, and Minute pools are all played on the same 10×10 board of 100 boxes. They share the same two steps — adding participants and drawing the numbers — explained once. (Season / Series pools use these same box mechanics across multiple games.)
Weekly NFL knockout — no 10×10 board. Multi-entry supported. Entries lock when the pool starts (first kickoff).
Against the spread by default. Scoring modes: Standard, Top 3 ranked, Top 5 ranked, Rank every game. Multi-entry. Points only — BoxD Sports never moves money.
Free ‘You won’ alerts arrive after the game; VIP gets the live hit. Numbers drawn, claims / join decisions, Survivor pick reminders, and optional game-start reminders are included. Each person controls their own alerts.

A quick tour of your home screen — where your pools live and how they're organized.
Your home screen splits your pools into Pools You Run and Pools You've Joined, so the ones you organize are never mixed in with the ones you're just playing. Within each, pools sit under collapsible Active and Completed sections — collapse what you're not looking at to keep a busy season easy to scan.
LIVE NOW. When a pool is linked to a real game that is in progress, it can appear under a green LIVE section at the top of home — so game day is never buried under last week’s boards.
Win celebration & Past Winnings. Free participants receive their win result after the game. VIP participants get the live hit. Find completed results in Past Winnings in Settings.
Private notes. On a pool you joined, a notes pill sits under Chat — only you can see what you write.
Across the top, sport filter chips and a search bar let you jump straight to what you want — filter to one or more sports, or search by name. Each pool row shows its type — Boxes, Score Change, Minute, and so on — at a glance.
You choose the sport when you create a pool. Box pools work in any sport — pick from 11, including Football, Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, Soccer, and Golf. Score Change works with football and baseball (each pool links to its NFL or MLB game). Minute is a football clock format (Football / College Football). Survivor is its own NFL format.
