1. Boxes
Try BoxD Sports. Your first 3 single-game pools are free. Every pool links to its real game, and live scores are available to everyone. On Free, you score it yourself. With Pool Pro, BoxD Sports scores it for you. Manual owner controls remain available.
The classic box pool — a 10×10 grid of 100 boxes, with winners at the end of each period of play.
Smaller boards: At create you can also pick a true 25 or 50 box Small-Grid. For ten seats only, see 10-Line Strip.
Boxes works on any game, in any sport. It isn't tied to football — set it up for any matchup you want, in any sport, and BoxD Sports handles the rest.
What you set up:
- Pool name — your pool's title.
- Home team / Away team — shown on the board.
- Points per box — the value of each box. Your total pot is this number × 100 (for example, 50 points per box = a 5,000-point pot).
- Period points — the points awarded to the winning box at the end of each period (for football: 1st quarter, halftime, 3rd quarter, and final). You set each one.
- Notes (optional) — house rules or context, shown on the pool screen.
- Let participants claim their own boxes (optional) — off by default (you add everyone yourself). Turn it on to let people claim their own boxes from the invite link, and set how many each person can take.
Percent payout calculator. You can enter period awards as whole points or as a percent of the pot. BoxD Sports converts percents to whole points, shows a running tally against your pot total, and keeps the math honest.
You don't have to hand out the whole pot. Allocate all of it if you like — or leave some unallocated, and that remainder simply stays with the organizer (Organizer keeps — optional, default 0, off the top before distribution). If you go over the pot, BoxD Sports warns you, but the call is always yours.
Optional advanced features:
- Touching Boxes — the boxes around the winning box each win a bonus too. You choose which neighbors count — the 4 adjacent, the 4 diagonal corners, or all 8 surrounding — plus which periods it applies to and the bonus points. Touching always wraps around the grid: a winner on an edge or corner still awards the full set of neighbors, so the count is always the same (4, 4, or 8) no matter where the winning box lands — a fixed, predictable bonus that folds right into the pot.
- Reverse Score — the box with the reversed numbers also wins a bonus (if 3–4 wins, then 4–3 wins too). You set which periods and the bonus amount.
- Pre-Game Prizes — pick specific number combinations ahead of time that automatically win a set prize once the numbers are drawn (for example: 0-0, 5-5, 2-2). These lock in when you create the pool.
Your real game. Every pool links to its real matchup. For football, winners follow the quarters and final. For baseball, checkpoints can use the 2nd, 4th, and 6th innings, plus final. You enter official results on Free; Pool Pro scores them automatically when the feed provides the required scores.
How it runs: Add participants, fill the board, and draw the numbers with Random, Manual, or non-camera Live Draw. Pool Pro adds camera Live Draw; members watch free. Track the game and enter results yourself on Free, or let Pool Pro score it for you. Free participants get the finished board and ‘You won’ after the game. VIP participants see live winning moments and receive hit alerts in every pool, no matter who runs it. Box claims appear for everyone as they happen. Points totals stay off the board cells.
Boxes lock once the linked game is live or final. When your pool is tied to a real game that is in progress or final, ownership freezes — no reassigning, clearing, or re-claiming boxes mid-game. Everyone can still view the board. Before kickoff, the usual claim and draw rules apply.
Prefer a bigger screen? BoxD Sports runs in your web browser too, at app.boxdsports.com — the same board and tracker on a laptop or desktop.
Play again next time. When your pool wraps, the owner can Roll Over from the button at the bottom of the pool (confirm first) to spin up a fresh copy for the next game — the board, roster, box nicknames, and co-owners all carry over, while the numbers, point tracking, team names, and winners reset for a clean slate. The copy gets a "(Rollover)" tag on its name. Drop anyone who isn't coming back first (press and hold their row) so you start with the right group. (Running a whole season this way? See Season / Series.)
For entertainment purposes only. BoxD Sports organizes and manages your pool — it does not collect, hold, or transfer money or anything of monetary value.
