BoxD Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information BoxD ("BoxD," "we," "us," or "our") collects, how we use it, and your choices. BoxD is a mobile application for organizing and tracking sports pools using points. BoxD does not handle anything of real-world value — it never collects, holds, distributes, or processes funds of any kind.
Information We Collect
Account information. When you create a BoxD account, we collect your email address and a password. Your password is stored securely and is never visible to us in readable form.
Activity within the app. We store the information you create and use while using BoxD, such as:
- Pools you create or join
- Boxes you claim and the picks you make
- Points associated with your pools and activity
- Your account status (for example, whether you have a Pro account, and any referral or organizer information)
That's it. BoxD does not collect your real name, home address, phone number, or any financial or payment information. BoxD doesn't track anything of real-world value, because it doesn't deal in any — all pool values in BoxD are expressed as points only.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- No financial data. BoxD never collects, processes, or stores credit card numbers, bank details, or any payment information. BoxD tracks pools using points, never real currency.
- No analytics or tracking. BoxD does not use third-party advertising networks, analytics trackers, or tracking cookies. We do not build advertising profiles or sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone.
- No location tracking. BoxD does not track your physical location.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect only to:
- Create and secure your account
- Operate the app's features (creating pools, claiming boxes, tracking picks and points)
- Communicate with you about your account or the service when necessary
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
How Your Information Is Stored and Shared
BoxD's data is stored using Supabase, a third-party database and authentication provider that hosts your account and app data securely on our behalf.
BoxD is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. When you download or use BoxD, Apple or Google may collect information according to their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
Certain features that rely on automated sports-score information may, in the future, use the Anthropic (Claude) API to retrieve publicly available game scores. This processing involves game data, not your personal account information.
We do not otherwise share your personal information with third parties, and we never sell it.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including secure authentication and access controls on our database. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
Your Choices
- Access and update. You can view and update your account information within the app.
- Delete your account. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data associated with it.
Children's Privacy
BoxD is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of BoxD after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
